"One For The Money" worth the money

Katherine Heigl stars in "One For The Money", a new movie release this weekend.  You know Katherine, of course, from ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and movies like "Knocked Up".

Katherine plays Stephanie Plus, a recently fired lingerie sales clerk at Macy's who takes a job as a bounty hunter for her cousin's bail bond business in Trenton, New Jersey.  She jumos at the chance to make $50,000 by seeking to bring in a bail-jumping cop wanted for murder, a man with whom she has something of a past history.

She quickly finds herself in over her head and finds herself in a multi-layered case involving drugs and murder and as the plot unfolds, there's a lot of good old fashion gritty pounding-the-pavement-of-the-mean-streets police work as opposed to the flashy CSI stuff.

Nothing really ground breaking here, but a fun movie, some good laughs especially from Debbie Reynolds as Katherine's grandmother, and worth the money for an hour and an half of entertainment.

"One For The Money" is based on author Janet Evanovich's first book in her mystery series and is rated PG-13 and I saw it at Celebration! Cinema with popcorn and SnoCaps!
