HONOLULU (Reuters) - A man being pursued by police drove into a security roadblock near President Barack Obama's vacation home in Hawaii on Thursday, the U.S. Secret Service said.
"Honolulu police was going to arrest someone they had traffic violations for. He was able to get away from them and led them in a high-speed chase which ultimately led to one of our checkpoints," Edwin Donovan of the Secret Service said.
The incident was unrelated to the president's visit to Hawaii, Donovan said.
The man was later arrested, according to authorities.
Obama, who arrived for an 11-day Hawaiian family holiday on Wednesday, spent much of the day playing golf with friends.
