KALAMAZOO -- B-17’s once filled the sky over Nazi Germany, raining bombs on the third reich. There were so many they called them the “aluminum overcast”. Now there are only a dozen of them left in the world. Beginning Sunday a flying fortress that was just recently restored in Texas will land at Kalamazoo Battle Creek International for a week’s stay.
It’s on a 22-day-tour of the Midwest, flying from an Airshow in Wisconsin, to another in Ann Arbor, where it will be joined by 7 other B-17’s. Tours and rides will be available while they are in Kalamazoo.
