UNDATED (WKZO) -- A dangerous bear is on the loose. In fact, thousands of them are.

Folks who happened to buy a Build-a-Bear this holiday season from The Crossroads in Portage or other locations in the state may want to take notice: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission along with Build-a-Bear is recalling nearly 300-thousand Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears.

The company lists the bears' eyes as a hazard, saying they could loosen and fall out, posing a choking danger to children.

The bears were sold from April to December for about $18.

The bears may be returned to the store in exchange for a coupon for any available stuffed animal.
