LAS VEGAS (WKZO) -- Former President George W. Bush is defending his role in helping to bail out General Motors and Chrysler before leaving office.
In a speech to the National Automobile Dealers Association in Las Vegas this week, Bush admitted he believed in the free market system, but noted "sometimes circumstances get in the way of philosophy." He also told the convention he would "make the same decision again."
Bush gave 25-billion dollars in emergency aid for GM and Chrysler. President Obama granted another 60-billion dollars soon after taking office in 2009.
