DETROIT (WKZO) -- Jury selection in the trial against seven members of the Hutaree Militia is expected to take several days.  The case, being tried in U.S. District Court in Detroit stems from allegations that in March 2010, the defendants planned to kill a police officer then ambush his funeral procession motorcade.

All seven are charged with attempted use of weapons of mass destruction and firearms offenses with additional charges levied against individuals.  Once jury selection is complete, the trial is expected to last up to eight weeks.
