MT. FUJI (WKZO) -- A private search party of four people from west Michigan has gone to Tokyo to climb Mt. Fuji in an attempt to solve the mystery of the disappearance of Matt Johnson. The Portage businessman and experienced outdoorsman headed alone with a backpack up the mountain, making it to the fifth station where he sent off a post card to the relatives and then vanished.
The initial search was plagued by freezing temperatures, heavy wind, and snow. They are hoping for better weather over the next few days.
